This course is a practical, interactive and valuable guide to using bids and tenders effectively. Delegates will learn how to find opportunities, to effectively manage the process – and to significantly increase the chances of creating successful bids. This course counts towards the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation  (CIHT) CPD hours.

Why this course is important? 
Every year, contracts worth many billions of pounds are put out to tender by private businesses and the public sector. In addition, local authorities and organisations within private sector prepare proposals to win a grant from variety of funding streams, for example, the Department for Transport’s funds, European Regional Development Funding and Big Lottery Fund. This course will help to get you into great shape for bidding, thereby hugely increasing the chance of your future bids being successful. 
The workshop will give practical guidance on how to tackle bids from start to finish, giving you the skills and confidence for future competitions, regardless of scope, scale or complexity. 

Course Trainer is Emma Jaques, APM.APMP
Emma Jaques is a member of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals, through which she has been awarded Practitioner accreditation; a global standard achieved by fewer than 200 people around the world. Emma has worked in client-facing environments for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience in managing both B2B and B2C projects. 
Emma is also a published author. Her first book, Bid Management, aimed at bid novices, was published in 2011 by Kogan Page as part of its Business Success series. Her second book, The Winning Bid, also published by Kogan Page (May 2013), is written for those more experienced in bidding activities. She is also a regular columnist for the Yorkshire Times.
