Earlier this month, the selection committee met at Logistic UK’s office in Victoria to select the abstracts that will be included in this year’s Transport Practitioners’ Meeting. The event will be held over two days in July at the Manchester Metropolitan University. We received 95 abstracts this year with a further 68 carried over from last year bringing the total to 163! Last year’s event was cancelled at the last minute due to the date clash with the UK General Election which meant many of our public sector speakers were unable to attend, but many of them have asked to present their papers this year.
So this year’s TPM promises to be a bumper event with contributions from 270 transport professionals in 99 organisations, including 28 public sector authorities, 48 consultants and 19 academic bodies. The topics this year are wide ranging including: access inclusivity, traffic modelling techniques, holistic planning, transport in rural areas, delivering Net-Zero, influencing modal shift, and smart cities.
Look out for the publication of the full programme in April and of course save the date! See you on the 9th and 10th of July in Manchester for the 22nd TPM.
