Death to Transport Planning, Long Live Transport Planning!
The 15th Annual Transport Practitioners Meeting is shaping up to be the most exciting, engaging and educational yet! This year we have over 100 paper presentations, eight hands on workshops, poster presentations, exciting exhibition area, complimentary networks drinks and prestigious awards dinner. PTRC is also happy to announce the theme for this years’ plenary session - Death to Transport Planning, Long Live Transport Planning.
This intriguing topic will be explored in two parts. On day one we will discuss the critical challenges which could change the fundamentals of how and why transport planning exists, taking three or four key challenges to carry through to discuss on day two. Day two will take the previous days learning and focus on a discussion around how transport planning can define its own future success; What practical changes do transport planners need to make to not just meet these challenges, but to take advantage of future opportunities?
And to tie it all together, we will run a workshop on day two translating this engaging conversation into practical actions that can be taken back to the profession as a whole.
