Traffic Signing: from first principles to best practice

Building on the success of the Evening Lecture Series ‘The Principles of Traffic and Transport’, PTRC has developed this programme aimed at highway and traffic engineers and technicians to assist them in planning and designing signing schemes which will be not only cost effective but sensitive to the local environment.
The 9 week course begins with a basic introduction to the Traffic Signs, Regulations and General Directions (TSRGD) and covers all the major categories of signs. Specific sessions deal with how to address the design, location, installation and illumination of traffic signing in the most sensitive manner and choosing the most appropriate material type.
